Hello Ohio
Well, since Aaron has now shared my Tumblr address I guess I should post here. I just don’t do this very often anymore. However, maybe I should get back in the habit. But for you Ohioans…this post is for you!
Hello!

Hello!
The job of the peacemaker is to stop war, to purify the world, to get it saved from poverty and riches, to heal the sick, to comfort the sad, to wake up those who have not yet found God, to create joy and beauty wherever you go, to find God in everything and in everyone.
- Muriel Lester
(1884-1968)
Sin and evil are concretely expressed not only in individuals, but also in structures.

According to Marc Summers (anybody remember him from Double Dare?!) on the Food Network’s “Unwrapped,” early American settlers believed that chocolate was a crucial aspect of a healthy diet.
Hum…well, why have we strayed from our forefathers and mother?!?! Did you know that Mars Candy company makes a line of specialty chocolates, called American Heritage Chocolate, that reflect the Founders chocolate recipes. These chocolates were spiced and flavored in what we would nowadays consider quite unusual, but was common space back then.
Also, in the 1800s, lobster was considered “poor man’s” food and was served pretty much only to prisoners. At in the 1880s lobster cost less than $.10 a pound…this is quite a bit of difference from my restaurant’s $23.95 a pound!
Also on Unwrapped tonight: The Founding Father’s brewing secrets…umm… beer…. You should check this out - they talk with the Boston Brewing Company (makers of Samuel Adams - yummy stuff) and they have developed a number of new brews (to us at least) that attempt to resemble the specific brews our founding fathers where known for, like George Washington Porter and James Madison Dark Wheat Ale.
Love this blog so far, just totally and I mean totally at random found it. Check it out!
This movie is perhaps the most powerful movie I have ever experienced. I work with a number of people from Africa, some refugees and some immigrents but all are beautiful people. Almost every time I work along side of these guys and gals, I think of this movie and am moved again.
This is a really cool website full of interviews and social commentary on the economic trends and conditions of the world. I was really, truly impressed by this site and what the “anchor” has to say. I also really like all the interviews she does with trend setting and young economic leaders. It’s worth your time. I got hooked on it through the CBS website.
